Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive

Lake Apopka’s North Shore is regularly cited as one of the top birding locations in Florida. We believe the 11-mile Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is the best way for visitors to experience the amazing diversity of the area. Most other trails in the area prohibit motorized vehicles. The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive will take at least two hours to drive and we often spend four or more! The trail is one-way, so once you start the drive, you are committed to completing the trail. There are many places to pull over and park your vehicle to explore the birds on foot.

Operating Hours. The drive is only open between sunrise and sunset on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and the federal holidays. Please be sure to doublecheck the links below before heading out.
